Born in Boston, Hilary MacMillan is the founder and creative force behind her namesake label. Now based in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood, she shares her home with her two pups, Gus and Maisey.

Originally studying political science and economics, Hilary followed her instinct for fashion after discovering a passion for the design process—launching her brand in 2013. Since then, she has built a label known for bold, expressive womenswear that blends strong tailoring with playful, statement-making design.

Her collections draw inspiration from a wide range of influences, including her Scottish heritage, a love of art, the Canadian landscape, and iconic design eras throughout history.

Hilary MacMillan was one of four recipients of the FGI Visionary Award in 2021, recognized for a brand ethos rooted in making a statement, taking action, and empowering women. A two-time nominee for Womenswear Designer of the Year, she continues to evolve the brand with a forward-thinking approach to modern fashion.
